I took this shot in the last week in November 2019.
This is the East Okement before it flows into Okehampton where it joins with the West Okement to form the River Okement proper.
Driving away from the town along Fatherford Road I happened upon (what I think is) the Ball Hill Viaduct. Having tried unsuccesfully to get a shot through the viaduct's arches, I wandered a short way along the river to find this lovely little beech tree picked out by the late afternoon sun. I know the trees in the background are shrouded in mist but, for m,e, the vibrance of the beech's orange leaves make up for that.
