This south-facing tree lined lane just outside of Upton reminds me of tree-lined roads of France.

In Norfolk where everywhere you look is really quite flat, almost anything that slopes at all is celebrated as a hill; this is no exception.

As for the name, you may think me morbid, but I just wonder if the "Hanging" stems from a particularly gruesome past; from the time when petty criminals who were caught, were not just hanged but were left hanging where they died as a warning to others. Why else would it be called it Hanging Hill?

This image is supplied with a substantial border with the title printed centrally along the bottom of the print.
